Dempsey, MikeAthletic and Activities Director, Assistant Principal
Mr. Mike Dempsey is currently the Athletic & Activities Director and the Assistant Principal. He is a 1975 Gross graduate. He received a bachelor's degree from UNO in 1980 and a master's degree in 1983. Mr. Dempsey began his career at Gross in 1980, teaching math as well as assisting coaching football and basketball. In 1986, he left Gross for five years to teach and coach at another Catholic high school in Omaha. Dempsey returned to Gross Catholic in 1992 to become the head basketball coach, teach math, work in the counseling department and assist coaching football. Mr. Dempsey finished another master's degree in administration in the fall of 2008. Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey have four children that have graduated from Gross Catholic.
Jacobson, MichalaAdmissions and Marketing Director and Varsity Softball Coach
Michala (D'Ercole) Jacobson is currently the Admissions and Marketing Director and Varsity Softball Coach.
She is a 1990 graduate of Gross Catholic High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from College of Saint Mary in elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Doane College. After being in the classroom teaching for 14 years, Michala became the Assistant Principal and then Principal at St. Gerald Catholic School.
Michala has also coached softball for 20 years and is a certified presenter for the Champions of Character Program through the NAIA. She was the JV then Varsity coach at Gross Catholic from 1995 - 2003 and then moved on to College of Saint Mary, Omaha and coached softball at CSM from 2003 - 2006.
Michala and her husband Chris have three daughters, two who are currently attending Gross Catholic.

Ostrowski, DorothyPresident of Gross Catholic
Dr. Dorothy Ostrowski has been at Gross Catholic since 1981. She began as a classroom teacher in the English Department and moved to Assistant Principal in 1996. Dr. Ostrowski went on to become Principal in 2000 and school President in 2012. Dr. Ostrowski holds a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from Creighton University and earned a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska in 2005. She was born and raised in Omaha and attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and Archbishop Ryan High School. She is a life-long member of St. Stanislaus parish.
John Schultz has been principal at Gross Catholic since 2012. He previously worked at Omaha Public Schools, where he served as a Supervisor in the Curriculum and Learning Department for seven years. His duties included writing a nationally distributed curriculum for the National Academy Foundation and the State of Nebraska Business and Marketing frameworks. He was also responsible for the development and delivery of the Business and Marketing Curriculum in the Omaha Public Schools. These duties included mentoring business and marketing teachers on strategies to increase student achievement. Prior to this, John taught for seven years, most recently at Benson High School. John, his wife Lynn, and their daughter are active parishioners at St. Leo Catholic Church. John and Lynn presented the Welcome Your Baby curriculum at St. Leo, and the family has been active in the music ministry and volunteering for Vacation Bible School. John has been a member of the St. Leo Parish Council for the last three years. John and Lynn are also active volunteers at St. Pius/St. Leo School. They served as the 2010 fundraiser co-chairs, and John has served as the School Board President for the past two years. He coaches two teams in the SPSL Soccer Club and served as president of the club for the 2010-11 season.
John's wife, Lynn Reed Schultz is a 1988 Gross Catholic alumnae and is the principal of St. Bernadette School.

Evans, NicoleDirector of Development
Nicole Evans, an Omaha native, is the director of Development for Gross Catholic High School. After spending more than a decade in healthcare and public health program management, Nicole spent a year working as a first grade teacher assistant and certified substitute teacher at a Catholic elementary school to help transition her career from healthcare administration to Catholic education. Most recently, she served as the director of Development for the Omaha Catholic School Consortium from June 2015 – May 2017.
She has a bachelor’s in journalism/communications, a master’s in business administration/healthcare administration, and has a local substitute-teaching license from the Nebraska Department of Education.
Nicole and her husband, Shawn, have two boys. They are parishioners at St. Gerald Catholic Church and both children attend Catholic school. Nicole enjoys running, swimming, spending time with her family, and volunteering at her children’s school.
