Freshman Felt Destined
Meet Kayla Chau, Class of 2022. Early on, Kayla participated in Junior Cougar Band and Dance and felt destined to attend Gross Catholic. According to Kayla, “Going to Gross just felt right. It was already my second home. I chose Gross Catholic a long time ago in my mind.”
Today Kayla enjoys band, choir, Algebra II and honors English. Her favorite thing about Gross Catholic though is its warm and welcoming community. “My favorite part of attending Gross is going to school and talking to so many people with different personalities and views, yet coming together as one incredible force. It taught me how to be a part of something special without losing my individuality,” said Kayla.
Kayla values all the faculty and staff at Gross Catholic, especially Mrs. Michele Sweetmon (Campus Minister), Mrs. Becca Jackson (Theater Arts and Vocal Teacher) and Mr. Bob Lienemann (Band Director). Kayla noted, “Their guidance and whimsical personalities encourage me to reach for the stars. They inspire me to be the best version of myself.”
As a freshman, Kayla has not yet determined her plans for the future. However, her future is certainly bright. She aspires to pursue a career in either medicine or music, and plans to share her talents to improve the lives of others.
