A New Glow for Gross Catholic!
As part of our 2025 Strategic Plan, Gross Catholic continues its commitment to cultivating a beautiful, inspiring, and mission-driven campus environment. This year, we are excited to announce a special artistic addition that will soon bring color, light, and meaning to the heart of our school.
Alumna and artist Julie Schram, ’74, has graciously volunteered her exceptional talent to create a custom stained-glass installation for the windows of the Media Center. Her handcrafted piece will feature vibrant color, intricate detailing, and symbolic design—serving as a warm welcome to all who enter the building and as a striking focal point for visitors arriving at the main entrance.
In sharing the importance of this initiative, President Stephen P. Eubanks reflected on the role of beauty in education:
“Beautifying Gross Catholic is more than enhancing our campus—it’s a principal tenet of our strategic plan and, more importantly, a reflection of the pride, spirit, and excellence which define our mission and our community. A beautiful environment inspires beautiful learning.”
While Ms. Schram is generously donating her time and artistry, Gross Catholic is seeking community support to fund the materials necessary to bring this meaningful project to life. This Giving Tuesday, we invite families, alumni, and friends of the school to contribute to this special effort.
Honoring the Heart of Our Community: The House System
The stained-glass artwork will celebrate one of Gross Catholic’s most treasured traditions—our House System, which strengthens the sense of family and belonging that lies at the core of the Cougar experience. The design will honor the four Marianists whose dedication helped shape the school we know today:
Barrett House – Brother Joe Barrett
McMenamy House – Father Al McMenamy
Middleton House – Brother Rich Middleton
Willett House – Brother Leo Willett
Their legacy, rooted in faith, service, and community, will be immortalized through this vibrant piece of art that students will pass by every day.
Join Us in Bringing This Vision to Life
The stained-glass installation is more than a work of art—it is a celebration of who we are as a community and who we aspire to become. By supporting this project, you help reflect the beauty, generosity, and spirit that define Gross Catholic.
