Reports to: Principal

Supervises: Teachers (Instruction) and Moderators

Position Summary: The Assistant Principal of Academics and Student Life works closely with the principal in the management of the school, faculty, staff, and students by supporting instructional needs, curricular and professional development, as well as supervising student activities and discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Upholds the school’s Catholic mission and commitment; knows and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school.
• Assists the Principal in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the school.
• Serves as the principal in the principal’s absence.
• Supports instructional staff in improving learning outcomes through curriculum development, pedagogy, and classroom management techniques.
• Promotes the use of instructional technology in the classroom and evaluates its effectiveness.
• Formulates, provides, and facilitates (with the Principal and Dean of Curriculum and Instruction) a professional development program designed to support faculty in development and implementation of our educational model. A strong candidate will bring new ideas to expand faculty development as well as curricular and co-curricular offerings.
• Maintains documentation of instructional planning.
• Assists in the implementation of improvement measures in accordance with accreditation agency’s recommendations.
• Monitors the management of student tardiness, absences, and academic probation.
• Oversees the moderation and supervision of student clubs.
• Monitors students’ well-being and behavior and handles discipline matters in conjunction with the Principal and school counselors.
• Leads lunch supervision.
• Leads the Safety Committee and organizes and manages all safety measures/drills in partnership with the committee.
• Promotes student and teacher accomplishments.
• Is an active presence in the building after school for student clubs and activities.
• Provides direct supervision of school sponsored events during and outside school hours.
• Is a member of the Curriculum Team and Core Academic Team.

Education and Experience

• Holds or is able to attain a Nebraska School Administrative Certificate with a 7-12 endorsement
• Experience working with a diverse student population at the secondary level is preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly favored but not required

Start Date: On or around July 1st

Director of Finance

Director of Finance

Gross Catholic High School, a co-educational high school serving 400 students in Bellevue, NE, is on a fast track to identify and secure a Director of Finance.

The Director of Finance reports directly to the President and ensures sound fiscal effectiveness and efficiency in managing all aspects of the school’s financial operations. She or he collaborates with the President and Finance Committee in developing financial strategy, forecasting, and the prudential stewardship of resources; is highly skilled in accounting principles, practices, and procedures; has direct experience with audits; and is an effective communicator who contributes to a positive, service-oriented school culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Endowment Foundation.

• Prepare an annual budget for review by the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

• Prepare and facilitate the annual school and endowment financial statement audits and ensure total compliance with GAAP for all financial aspects of the school.

• Work with outside accountant to prepare tax schedules and returns; manage all tax planning and compliance with all required Federal, State, local, payroll, gaming, property, and all other applicable taxes.

• Manage payroll and benefits and the relationships with those providers; with President oversee HR aspects such as: benefits billing and payroll deductions; entry and termination forms; employee onboarding; and preparation of annual contracts.

• Administer the 403b retirement plan in accordance with plan documents and ERISA.

• Manage cash flow, monitor deposits for tuition payments, and accurately apply to families’ accounts; collects on delinquent accounts.

• Manage the financial assistance program; review applications and meet with families to determine appropriate aid.

• Develop and maintain all accounting policies and systems, including the general ledger and financial reporting; ensure records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Direct all aspects of the business office and oversee all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.

• Oversee the financial management of the school store (apparel).

• Reviews and assists in negotiation of vendor contracts.

• Coordinates with the advancement office to ensure accuracy of temporarily and permanently restricted donor gifts.

• Serve as a school representative on the Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and Endowment Committee. Supply requested information and ad hoc reporting when needed.

• Oversee and mentor Staff Accountant as well as vending and school store managers.

Qualifications

• Understanding of and commitment to Gross Catholic’s mission

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance or accounting (required)

• At least 5 years of related finance or accounting experience, preferably in an educational setting

• 2 to 3 years of direct management experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel software required; experience with FACTS software a plus

• Effective communicator who can prepare and present comprehensive reports to various groups

• Highly organized, strategic thinker

• Team-oriented, client-friendly attitude; will work effectively with board, teachers, parents, staff, and students

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all financial and personnel matters

Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant

Gross Catholic High School, a co-educational high school serving 400 students in Bellevue, NE, is on a fast track to identify and secure a Staff Accountant.

Reports to the Director of Finance. Performs various accounting tasks in support of the Business Office, to include posting entries, processing payments, assisting in preparation of billings and other financial reports, and deposits. Responds to inquiries from internal departments or families. Assists in performance of various clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Collect payments for various aspects of the school, issue receipts and record entries in QuickBooks
• Collect and process invoices for payment
• Record bank transactions into the general ledger system
• Prepare tills for athletic and other miscellaneous activities; count and reconcile tills
• Reconcile cash and prepare and execute bank deposits
• Assist in contacting families to notify them of delinquent account balances; keep detailed logs of attempted/successful communications
• Assist in month-end processes, including reconciling accounts in QuickBooks in preparation for financial reporting
• Maintain reliable communication with the Finance Director, President, Principal, Athletic Director, and other department heads
• Assist with outgoing communications to families and parishes regarding financial matters
• Research discrepancies in the general ledger
• Execute monthly payroll processing in Paycor and maintain payroll records
• Assist with 403b retirement plan deposits in conjunction with payroll

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to perform accounting procedures and reconciliations in QuickBooks
• Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures
• Records maintenance skills
• Knowledge of payroll software, Paycor knowledge preferred
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Ability to prepare administrative paperwork
• Account balancing skills
• Knowledge of invoicing procedures
• Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and practices
• Knowledge of accounts receivable procedures and practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all financial and personnel matters; and to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting (preferred)
• At least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferably in a school setting.

Gross is seeking an energetic, organized and committed individual to serve as our Varsity Head Boys Golf Coach. As a Marianist school, we value coaches that build community and foster individual and team growth.

Previous Head Coaching and or Assistant Coaching experience preferred but not required.
