Department: Science
Reports to: Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Gross Catholic High School is accepting applications for the science department. There are two positions
available for the 2026-2027 school year. Possible courses include any level of Biology, Chemistry, Physics
and/or Natural Science.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Commitment to the mission of Gross Catholic High School
● Strong rapport with students, parents, teachers, and staff
● Openness to participate in a student-centered, family- and faith-oriented community
● Engaging in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and
skill development
● Planning for and guiding the learning process to help students achieve program objectives
● Maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
● Experience with and desire to engage in extracurricular activities, coaching, or moderating clubs and
activities.

Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Science or endorsement in Biology, Chemistry or Physical Sciences. While not
required, preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree in Science.
● Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Science or the ability to obtain one prior
to August 1, 2026.

Assistant Track Coach

Assistant Track Coach Needed

Position Title

Assistant Track Coach, Spring 2026

Description

Department: Athletics
Reports to: Athletic Director

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the coaching staff with meets and practices.

Preferred candidates would be comfortable with:

  • Coaching the throwers
  • Discus and shot put experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Supervises practice locations and playing locations during and following periods of team
    participation.
  • Remains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitions.
  • Cares for athletes and injured athletes in the absence of an athletic trainer.
  • Promotes support of Gross Catholic Booster Club and any sale of tickets associated with it.
  • Keeps informed on current trends in your sport and attends and participates in
    clinics and ongoing professional development in your sport.
  • Maintains active membership in related professional organizations.
  • Maintains positive staff relationships with other coaches.
  • Leads by example of the values set forth by Gross Catholic High School.
  • Encourages participation in the upcoming high school track season.
  • Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and
    while on trips off school property in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and
    the student handbook.

Education and Experience

Previous coaching experience preferred, not required. General track experience preferred.

Certificates

To be obtained with the help of the Athletic Director before starting:

Must be NFHS concussion, heat illness prevention, sudden cardiac arrest, and CPR/AED certified or willing to complete certification shortly after hire.

The Archdiocese of Omaha requires Safe Environment training prior to working with student-athletes. These can all be coordinated/scheduled with the Gross Catholic Athletic Director.
