Softball Coach

Varsity Softball Coach Position

Head Softball Coaching opening for the 2023-2024 season. Eligible candidates must hold a current coaching endorsement or teaching certificate to coach. This individual will be responsible for the growth and development of two programs within the softball program. In addition to overseeing their assistant coaches, they will have the responsibilities of designing, scheduling, and implementing practice plans and off-season workouts.

Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Position

The Senior Accountant reports directly to the President and ensures sound fiscal effectiveness and efficiency in managing all aspects of the school’s financial operations. She or he collaborates with the President and Finance Committee in developing financial strategy, forecasting, and the prudential stewardship of resources; is skilled in accounting principles, practices, and procedures; has direct experience with audits; and is an effective communicator who contributes to a positive, service-oriented school culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and Endowment Foundation.
• Collaborate with the President, Principal, and Finance Committee in developing an annual budget for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
• Prepare and facilitate the annual school and endowment financial statement audits and ensure total compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for all financial aspects of the school.
• Work with outside accountant to prepare tax schedules and returns; manage all tax planning and compliance with all required Federal, State, local, payroll, gaming, property, and all other applicable taxes.
• Manage payroll and benefits and the relationships with those providers; with President, oversee HR aspects such as: benefits billing and payroll deductions; entry and termination forms; employee onboarding; and preparation of annual contracts.
• Oversee the administration of 403b retirement plan in accordance with plan documents and ERISA.
• Manage cash flow, monitor deposits for tuition payments, and accurately apply to families’ accounts; collects on delinquent accounts.
• Collaborate with the President and Director of Admissions on the allocation of financial aid.
• Develop and maintain all accounting policies and systems, including the general ledger and financial reporting; ensure records are maintained in accordance with GAAP.
• Direct all aspects of the business office and oversee all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Oversee the financial management of the school store (apparel).
• Review and assist President in the negotiation of vendor contracts.
• Coordinate with the advancement office to ensure accuracy of temporarily and permanently restricted donor gifts.
• Serve as a school representative on the Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and Endowment Committee. Supply requested information and ad hoc reporting when needed.
• Is cross-trained on the responsibilities of the Staff Accountant.
• Oversee and mentor Staff Accountant as well as vending and school store managers.

Qualifications

• Understanding of and commitment to Gross Catholic’s mission.
• 5 years of related finance or accounting experience, preferably in an educational and/or
parish setting, bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• 2 to 3 years of direct management experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel software; experience with FACTS software a plus.
• Effective communicator who can prepare and present comprehensive reports to various groups.
• Highly organized, strategic thinker.
• Team-oriented, client-friendly attitude; works effectively with board, teachers, parents, staff, students.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all financial and personnel matters.
