High School Counselor

High School Counselor Job Description

  • Department: Counseling
  • Reports to: Principal

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Gross Catholic is searching for a High School Counselor.  Successful candidates must be able to assist students with academic schedules, support students’ social/emotional needs, and work with students to plan for their future.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Commitment to the mission of Gross Catholic High School
  • Strong rapport with students, parents, teachers, and staff
  • Counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal and social abilities
  • Help host events such as, but not limited to, freshmen parent information nights, back to school night, open house, career day and Pre-ACT testing day.
  • Openness to participate in a student-centered, family- and faith-oriented community
  • Experience with and desire to engage in extracurricular activities, coaching, or moderating clubs and activities

Education and Experience

  • A master’s degree in school counseling with Nebraska certification or the ability to obtain the appropriate certification by August 1st, 2024
  • Experience in high school counseling is preferred, but not required

Social Studies Teacher

Social Studies Job Description

  • Department: Social Studies
  • Reports to: Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Gross Catholic High School is hiring a Social Studies teacher. Possible courses include World History, American History, Government, Introduction to Sociology, Geography and Introduction to Psychology. This department offers on grade level classes, AP and Dual Enrollment courses.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education. While not required, preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree in Social Studies.
• Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Science or the ability to obtain one prior to August 1, 2024.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Gross Catholic High School is hiring a Science Teacher. Possible courses include any level of college preparatory Science with an emphasis in Chemistry and the physical sciences.

• Experience with and desire to engage in extracurricular activities, coaching, or moderating clubs and activities.
