Our Gross Catholic family experienced a tragedy yesterday. A member of the roofing crew working to replace the roof following the summer hail storms suffered a serious injury following a fall. Bellevue Police along with Fire and Rescue were contacted immediately. School faculty stepped in to provide life saving measures until paramedics arrived. We are sad to share, the worker, Sander Eduardo Gonzalez-Munoz, passed away.
School administrators followed our protocols and put a “Hold” in place for students to hold their location in the building to allow emergency personnel to care for Mr. Gonzalez. Please continue to pray for his family and loved ones. We had additional counseling resources from Catholic Charities in the building for anyone needing assistance.
In honor of Eduardo and to support his family, we will be raising funds through a dress down day on Wednesday, Oct 30. Students are asked to bring a minimum of $2 to dress in school appropriate casual attire, including sweats and hoodies. If you would like to contribute additionally, you are welcome to send that donation with your child on Wednesday.
Additional donations can also be made through the Gross Catholic Venmo account, @Gross-HighSchool, using the description, “Gonzalez”.
Donate on VenmoAll funds raised on Wednesday and the days after will be given to his family.
