Gross Catholic Wins First Place in the Omaha’s Choice Award Voting
Every year the Omaha World-Herald conducts an online poll and asks the people of Omaha which schools, businesses, and services are the best. Those that win get bragging rights for the year. Importantly, the World-Herald declares that, “being named Omaha’s Choice is more than a plaque on the wall – it’s a strong signal of community support.”
Omaha’s Choice First Place
This year, Gross Catholic has been named the First Place winner in the Private High School category. This is the second time Gross has won this award. It is indeed significant to win this great honor because the Omaha area has a substantial number of private high schools compared with its population. There is a lot of competition in the city and Gross Catholic has risen to the top.
Principal and Student Agree
Gross Catholic’s principal, Paulette Neuhalfen, says, “Being named Omaha’s Choice confirms that Gross Catholic continues to provide outstanding academics, positive co-curriculars and a faith-filled learning environment. We always look for opportunities to expand ways to help our students grow and develop them into future leaders.”

Not Your Typical High School
Gross Catholic isn’t your typical high school. Here, students get the attention and opportunities they need to thrive, with a 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio in every classroom. And the results speak for themselves: 100 percent of our students graduate, 96 percent go on to pursue post-secondary education or military service, and our ACT scores consistently outperform those of other high schools in the state and the nation.
