We Love Spring Sports
That transition from winter to spring sometimes brings turbulent weather. However, all Cougars can weather any storm no matter the season!
Share in the excitement of Gross Catholic Baseball! With 6 State Championships, including back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010, our program boasts a winning tradition. We’ve also produced 12 future Division I college baseball players, proving our commitment to developing elite talent.
Show your Cougar Pride by staying up-to-date on Twitter (@GrossHSBaseball) during varsity games.
Come cheer on our players at our home games, held on the beautiful baseball diamond in the southeast corner of our 5-acre campus.

The Gross Catholic strength training program isn’t just about building muscle; it’s about building character.
Our Cougars embrace the challenges of training, understanding that every rep, every set, builds not only their physical strength but also their mental resilience. We strive to cultivate a spirit of dedication, discipline, and respect, values that resonate not only in the weight room but also in the classroom, at meets, and throughout their lives.

- The competition season runs for eight (8) weeks. It starts in mid to early March.
- The meets are held on Saturdays. There is a 50-shot round before lunch and a 50-shot handicapped round after lunch.
- The competitions are typically held at Koch Trap and Skeet, Bellevue Rod & Gun, & Isaac Walton in Valley. The Conference Meet is held in Lincoln and the two-day State Meet is in Doniphan, NE (near Grand Island).
- Gross High competes in the Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference.
- Practices will be held at Koch Trap and Skeet at 72nd and Harrison in Seymour Smith Park. In the fall, informal practices will be held once a week. In the late winter/ early spring, the formal practices will be held twice a week. During the season practices will likely be on Tuesdays and Thursday at 4:30pm.
What is Needed
- All shooters need to have proof of passing a Hunter’s Safety class. For those 16 years old and over can do the class all on-line.
- Every shooter will need a 12-gauge shotgun, several boxes of target load shells, and ear and eye protection.
Taught the Correct Way
- Coaches are available at every practice to teach and coach. Coaching may include making sure that the gun fits, teaching the basics of trap, or working on form.

Come and give it a try!
