The Arts Evoke Creativity and Empower Us
Gross Catholic is dedicated to a full and balanced arts education. Students have many opportunities to create and explore.
The Gross Catholic Art Club is a social club for students interested in the visual arts. Students can work on individual projects, but frequently, the Art Club participates in group art projects in partnership with outside agencies. Recent partnerships include the Omaha Summer Arts Festival, Global Art Exchange, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, University Hospital, Omaha Humane Society, and Boys and Girls Club. The Art Club also plans social events involving the arts in the Omaha area, such as visiting galleries in the Old Market and Joslyn Art Museum.
The Art Club is open to all students and meets every Tuesday from 3 to 4 pm in the Gross Catholic Art Studio.

Gross Catholic students have several opportunities to explore their interest in theatre, stagecraft, or student directing throughout the year. Students may take classes in Choir, Acting I or II, Dance, and Theatrical Production. They may also participate in theatre productions as an extracurricular activity. Typically, the drama department presents 1-2 productions per semester and competes in the state One-Act competition. Students who have had longevity or exemplify excellence are invited to join the International Thespian Society. Each year, our troupe attends the state festival in Lincoln, NE, in January. The year culminates with a red-carpet evening of theatre awards to celebrate our students and our productions.

Gross Catholic instrumentalists have the opportunity to participate in several ensembles. The concert band/pep band rehearsals are first period every day, and other ensembles (jazz combo, pit orchestra for school musicals, etc.) rehearse before and after school.
Pep band performs at many varsity home games.
Instrumental music students consistently receive superior ratings at District Music Contests and participate in various Honor Ensembles including All-State Band and many collegiate honor bands.
