Cheer Squad

Champions!

Our spirited cheerleading squads ignite Cougar pride at sporting events and special student activities. From summer camp training to thrilling cheer competitions throughout the year, they inspire unity within the Cougar Family. The Varsity Squad exudes sportsmanship and Cougar spirit during the fall and winter seasons.

Remarkably, the Varsity Cheer Team holds an unrivaled record of 10 consecutive State Championship Medals!

Dance Team

Varsity Dance Team

The Gross Catholic Dance Team team consists of 12-18 freshman, sophomore, junior & senior members chosen by audition each spring. They perform at home football games, home basketball games, and at various area competitions. They compete each year in the Nebraska State Cheer & Dance Competition held in Grand Island, NE. The Dance Team also volunteers, teaching dance to young people. Our varsity dance team is coached by Jennifer Melcher, jmelcher@gcgmail.org.

Junior Varsity Dance Team

The Gross Catholic Junior Varsity team consists of 5-12 freshman, sophomore & junior members, chosen by audition each spring. The Junior Varsity team may perform with Varsity at a home football game and/or home basketball games, and at home JV basketball games and various area competitions. This team focuses on improving the dancer’s technique in pom, jazz and hip hop.

Annual Light Show and Showcase at Gross Catholic High School

In February or March of each spring, Gross Catholic Dance presents a spectacular Light Show and Annual Showcase. The Varsity, Junior Varsity. & Junior High Dance Teams will perform their competition routines for parents, friends, former dance team members and supporters of Gross Catholic High School.

Student Council

The Student Council works to promote family spirit within the Gross Catholic community through spirit and social events.

Our Student Council consists of a President, Executive Committee and sophomore, junior, and senior Class Representatives who are elected each spring.

Student Council is responsible for planning and executing school dances, Homecoming Week activities, the annual blood drive, Prom and many other great activities such as Dodge Ball and Ping-Pong tournaments.
